Eleanor Ross

Founder & Director

My interest in the spirits industry began with where I grew up. Coming from the north of Scotland, I was surrounded by distilleries, and with a family deeply rooted in the whisky world, it felt natural to explore what the industry had to offer when I moved to Edinburgh to study.

Over the years, I’ve built extensive experience hosting events, running tastings, and managing a whisky shop. After countless hours swirling drams and guiding people through flavour journeys, I’ve managed to turn my passion into a career.

Unlike my colleague Stephen (who is unfortunately allergic), I’ve also developed a strong love for rum. I often compare spirits to perfume: everyone has their signature style and scent, and it’s all about discovering the flavour and texture that resonate most with you.

That search for taste, for individuality in every bottle, is what makes me so passionate about the spirits world. At the heart of it, I’m driven by an obsession with flavour.

Stephen McGinty

Co-founder & Director

My interest in food, wine and whisky began in university. My belief is that it makes sense to eat and drink well as often as possible. I have spent a long time researching and honing my food and wine pairing knowledge and have a matching passion for cooking. When it comes to whisky, I think that there genuinely is a special dram for everyone, and I am committed to helping anyone on the journey through the world of Scotch.

My whisky experience began thirty – odd years ago, and changed from the amateur to the professional sphere when I became a wine and spirit advisor, and later manager, with the much – missed Oddbins.

I come from a family of fine cooks, and enjoy menu planning, cooking, and, naturally, serving fine wines, both well-known and obscure.
